The seasons have changed and it’s finally time to enjoy the joys of the British springtime, from long evenings in the gardens to country walks. We’ve focussed our attention this week on Scottish perfume house, Jorum Studio. Why? Their artisan fragrances ooze originality, some offering a contemporary alternative to the more traditional perfumes, with fragrance notes creating scents so ethereal you feel transported to the fantasy land of of Shakespeare’s Midsummer Night’s Dream.
Here at Floralia Perfume Boutique you’ll find 4 fragrances created by Jorum Studio, Phloem, Fantasomia, Trimerous and finally our weekly top pick, Nectary, featured on our Scent of the Week. A garden for the skin, Nectary is fruity, floral yet earthy all at the same time. The perfume hits with bursting notes of bramble, peach, cranberry and rose absolute, before unfolding to earthy notes of oud, ambergis, roseroot, olibanum, selfheal, castoreum, civet, labdanum absolute and musk. To quote the creators of this fine fragrance “Nectary is not a preened garden; there is bravado and danger lurking at every twist and turn.” Nectary is a bold, daring fragrance which certainly makes a statement.
Now, let’s talk the brand. The “House of Scottish Perfumes”, Jorum was initially founded by Scottish perfumer Euan McCall who created quality fragrance blends for small and large perfume brands. “Jorum Studio” was launched in 2019 and is now operated by Euan and his partner Chloe Mullen, who produce fine fragrances from their studio in Edinburgh. Consciously hand-crafted and innovative, Jorum Studio perfumes are of exceptional high-quality, in line with our selected fragrance brands here at Floralia Perfume Boutique.
Let’s continue the focus on niche perfumery and celebrate the artisanal blends made right here in the UK.
